The heart of the BAPVC is the Industry Board. Companies that join the Consortium and pay a membership fee become members of the Industry Board.
The Industry Board identifies research priorities, informs the scope of RFPs, reviews and ranks proposals, and is kept apprised of the progress of research. Industry membership in the consortium spans the entire supply chain for photovoltaic manufacturing. While university research in this realm would benefit from the experience and expert guidance industry could offer, far greater potential resides in the interaction among experts from academic and industrial backgrounds.
Through semi-annual workshops and monthly webinars, BAPVC provides a forum for university and industry experts to collaboratively set the scope for research in PV manufacturing and measure the performance in research. We rely on the industry participation to catalyze generation of new or improved ideas and manage the funding and projects to dynamically optimize the consortium's overall performance.
