Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property

Industry members will be the first to learn of inventions and will be in the best position, potentially in partnership with other member companies, to adopt and build on those inventions in their own laboratories and factories.

BAPVC inventions are owned by the host institutions of the researchers and those institutions are responsible for licensing technology. Host institutions must sign the BAPVC Agreement for Research Members as a condition of receiving funding from the BAPVC. Member companies receive early access to Consortium IP. It is expected that innovations will be transferred to industry where individual companies will continue to develop technologies, customize those technologies, and develop proprietary know-how.

BAPVC promotes active participation of graduate students and post docs in all phases of research and Industry Board Workshops. For the benefit of both the students and industry. BAPVC research will be published in the public domain.
